Omega enthusiasts are buzzing with excitement about the 60th-anniversary edition. Let’s take a look at the 1957 Railmaster, 1957 Seamaster and 1957 Speedmaster watches.

An iconic comedian once stated: “I’m 60 years old.” That’s 16 celsius.” This is how many watch enthusiasts feel when they see the Omega Trilogy 1957 watches.

These watches are recreations from the original Omega Holy Trinity’s tool watches. They were all introduced in 1957. This Limited Edition Trilogy 60th anniversary set represents what many consider to be the best chance of a lifetime. This is the Omega watch with the greatest historical significance; it’s also mechanically superior.

These Omega watches helped them become who they are today. Although the 60th anniversary Trilogy may look like a vintage watch, they are modern and trendy.

OMEGA Trilogy 1957 Review & Comparison

The Omega Railmaster was the first. This watch was originally a pocketwatch, but it was redesigned in 1957 to be a wristwatch. This was to assist trains with keeping track of time and avoid train accidents. The 60th anniversary Railmaster was nothing short of spectacular. With its incredible precision, it took off like an eagle. Original Railmaster used a Caliber 284-based 30T2-based mechanism. It was equipped with the Omega 7077 bracelet in steel and broad arrow fingers.

Omega Speedmaster made its debut in 1957. It was also the first watch to be seen on the moon in 1969. The Speedmaster was a timeless chronograph that has become an iconic symbol of man’s accomplishments. Nearly all serious collectors have one. Most call it the “Speedy” affectionately.

It was also a Omega Seamaster300 that was worn on the wrist by Mi6 agent007 in every James Bond movie except Goldeneye 1997, when Pierce Brosnan portrayed his first role as the iconic spy. It was last seen on Daniel Craig’s wrist, pictured below alongside the Seamaster 007 “Spectre” Limited Edition. He is also a brand ambassador for Omega.

Why are these limited-edition Omega 1957 Trilogy watches so beloved? It is the detail that went into creating these watches that were so closely matched to the originals. Omega even used the taller, slimmer version of their logo along with the 1957 font of the Omega namemark and series logo fonts on the dial. These three series has grown tremendously in the 60 years since their creation. The Speedmaster and Seamaster series have become the archetype of Omega.

Petros Protopapas is the curator at the Omega Museum. He said that Omega’s product development team worked closely with the museum to recreate these iconic masterpieces. This included computer-assisted technology (CAT scans), which allow for x-rays to be taken from multiple angles and reproduce the watch case without opening it.

1957 Omega Railmaster Review

As you can see, the scans were successful in identifying the layers, including the crystal and movement. Another shot of the caliber is taken from the side of case back.

Omega has made many improvements to the Railmaster’s mechanical design since the original version, which was reference number CK2914. The new 1957 Railmaster is powered by the Omega 8806 caliber – Automatic/Self-Winding movement.

What makes this movement better than the original 30-T2-based calibers: the 284, 275, and 286 calibers. The “Master Co-Axial Chronometer” designation is now applied to the movement. This means the watch now has a METAS-approved Master Chronometer designation. This was after enduring a lot of testing for accuracy, and many other elements.

It is now 15x more resistant to magnetic interference that the CK2914. The 1957 Railmaster was only capable to withstand magnetic fields of between 900 and 1000 Gauss. However, the New Omega 1957 Railmaster Limited Edition can withstand magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss.

Omega’s Co-Axial escapement is now available in the limited edition. This will allow Omega to provide longer service intervals and also come with a 4-year warranty.
